Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. – Psalm 150:6
REFERENCE
Psalm 150:1-6
Most times, life is the greatest gift we easily take for granted. It is one of God’s most ignored gift. We get occupied by unpaid bills, unanswered prayers, unmet deadlines, broken relationships and unfulfilled dreams.
We wonder at a number of unfair things around us, we get envious of our friends’ seemingly better lives, we get worried about how we will accomplish goals and targets we have set. We get depressed just thinking about all these things, but we rarely pause to think about the fact that we can think about these things. Yes, that we can think about these things.
For you to have all or some of these concerns mentioned, is an indication that you are alive. Only living people worry about such things. I bet you, no dead man knows if his girlfriend jilts him, no corpse worries about what clothing he (or should I say, ‘it’) puts on, neither can one in the grave comment on political or economic concerns.
Can’t you see that you are alive, that you have the gift of life, that there are many who presently are ‘pushing up daisies’, who were here January and planned for the year, but…
No wonder the Psalmist said, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” Be thankful for life. Why? Because a living dog is better than a dead lion, as long as you have life, things can change, you have hope, you can enjoy the simple privileges of life, you can expect a better tomorrow.
Therefore, today, look away from your mountain of troubles and thank God that you are alive.
By the way, I have to be alive to write this…and you have to be alive to read it. So, I thank God for my life, how about you?
#IDareYou to thank God for LIFE.
