Luke 5:1-7
Every time you hear the word of God, you have a choice to obey or not. You can’t negotiate your way through obedience; it may be a simple or a relatively hard instruction but you have to obey it nonetheless to see the desired result.
When Jesus told Simon to launch into the deep for a catch after a night of toiling, you could imagine the expression on Simon’s face. In his mind Simon must have thought, ‘what is this man talking about? I am an experienced fisherman yet I toiled through the NIGHT (the best time to fish) without catching any fish.’
The above story ended well because Simon simply obeyed the word of God; not looking at the facts staring at him. Like Simon, you may have toiled through last year and even through life in different areas and have caught ‘nothing’ (seen the desired result), but God knows exactly what you should do or where you should go to see the breakthrough you desire in life. The good news is: He is willing to show you what to do (because you are precious to Him and He loves you dearly), if you are willing to obey His instructions.
Therefore, be sensitive to the voice of God and the instructions He will be giving you this year. Come to a place of quietness in your spirit where you can easily hear the Spirit of God. Study the word and listen to the instruction it will give you, when you go to church listen to God’s instructions through your pastor and obey. The instruction may sound unreasonable and senseless but still, like Simon, OBEY!
I SEE YOU BREAK FORTH ON ALL SIDES AS YOU OBEY THE WORD OF GOD TO YOU IN JESUS NAME!
Have a TESTIMONY-filled Thursday!
(To be continued tomorrow).
Deuteronomy 28:1-13 and John 2:5.
Ask the Lord to open your ears to hear the instructions He is giving you, and your eyes to see what He is showing you, to stop the toiling in your life.
What practical steps will you take to create an atmosphere to easily discern the voice of God?
