…The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. Psalm 19:9-10 (NLT)
REFERENCE
Psalm 19:7-11 (NLT)
No words or adjectives will be sufficient to adequately describe the virtues and excellent qualities of the Word of God. The Psalmist here tries to extol the beautiful qualities inherent in the Word. Compared to the Word, other things will fade and pass, but the Word will forever remain. There is nothing that outlives the Word of God; everything in life got its existence from the Word of God.
Hebrews 11:3 makes us understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God. There was nothing made that was made without the Word, and it is potent enough to transform lives. Unfortunately, many believers are bible (semi) illiterates. Their knowledge of it is limited compared to their knowledge of other things. Nothing else empowers you like the Word of God; so, it is sad when you don’t know the Word. The devil or certain matters of life don’t answer to your qualification but only to the Word. No other thing can confront invisible forces like the Word of God. So, as a believer, you ought to place value on the Word.
God is spirit; and the way to connect with Him is through His Word which is also spirit and life (John 6:63). The Word is food for your spirit, and it is the spirit of a man that sustains him in infirmity; it is a compass to your life, to give you direction (Proverbs 18:14, Psalm 119:105). It is clear then that there is no other knowledge that is as important as knowing the Word of God. Ignorance of the Word of God is dangerous for a believer.
One sure way to live victoriously in this world is to arm yourself with the excellent Word of God. Anything you confront with the Word, you confront with God, because you can’t separate God from His Word. The Word will give you results beyond your abilities. In Luke 5:1-6, Peter toiled all night as a fisherman without a single catch of fish on that day; so, he washed his nets and packed up for the day. But, when he exposed himself to the Word of God, he got a net breaking catch that he couldn’t get in his own strength. Of a truth, in the Word are answers to the challenges that confront us in the world.
Without the Word, your living is limited; without it you miss out on the supernatural life. God is calling you today to an experience in and with His Word; He is calling you to treasure His Word, which has the capacity to build you up and give you your inheritance amongst the saints (Acts 20:32).
