“Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses went into the tabernacle of witness, and behold, the rod of Aaron, of the house of Levi, had sprouted and put forth buds, had produced blossoms and yielded ripe almonds.” ~ Numbers 17:8
REFERENCE:
When God is involved in any venture, it will be fruitful one way or the other because God is a fountain of water that supplies invisible nutrients to whatever His children set their hearts and hands to do. The fruitful rod of Aaron is a testament to the presence of God with Aaron to function in the office He has called him to. Fruitfulness is often our badge of approval by God.
Until you show fruitfulness, many will despise you, question your authority, ignore your wisdom, and disregard your counsel. Like we say in Nigerian street parlance, “You go explain tire…no evidence.” When you have no fruits, you will spend needless time seeking affirmation. Fruitfulness makes you desirable, eases your pain, earns you respect, gives you influence, increases your relevance, and gives you the capacity to affect families of the earth.
There are some important lessons and messages from God to you from this account:
a. God caused Aaron’s rod to bud because it was brought into the Tabernacle. God is inviting you to spend more time in His presence this year. He is the river of life that triggers seasons of unstoppable supernatural fruitfulness in every department or segment of your life. In His presence, showers of blessings will fall on your dry places and provoke new blessings.
b. Nature dried Aaron’s rod, but divinity made it bud and blossom. God wants to do for you what Nature or science says is impossible. Are there areas of your life where you grapple with things that Nature has damaged, dried up, or rendered impossible? God will visit every dryness and unproductivity in your life, and your dry rod shall blossom this year.
c. The Almond bears its fruits before other trees. In Hebrew, its name means ‘haste.’ It is called ‘the waking tree’ because it is said to ‘wake up’ before other trees. We don’t know if Aaron’s rod was from an almond tree, but God brought almonds from it, revealing that He will do quick work for His people. When Jeremiah saw an almond tree, God said, “I will hasten to perform My word.” God will quickly do what you trust Him for this year.
