THE FUTURE OF DREAMS

“Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, ‘Some wild beast has devoured him.’ We shall see what will become of his dreams!” – Genesis 37:20

God gives dreams to give us a glimpse of His plans and what our future holds. If God gives you a dream, He desires that someday, you live and walk in its reality; He never lies or deceives us. Dreams from God are advertisements of great things to come. The future of dreams is their fulfillment, but the devil works hard to kill that future.

It should not be a surprise if, when you have a dream, everything around you seems contrary to it. Worse still, you may have increased contention and everything working against you. The reason is that your dreams threaten Satan. He would want to stop Ruth from marrying Boaz to stop Jesus from coming. He would try to kill Mary’s Boy so that salvation would not come to man. He hated Joseph and his dreams because he was going to preserve the destiny of a nation through famine. Because of the possibility of a great future, satan hates dreams and dreamers, for every ‘dream come true’ is victory over the kingdom of darkness.

Joseph’s dream threatened his brothers; they could not understand how God would entrust so much to such a little boy. Their minds could not comprehend that they would be subject to him at any time. Therefore, they thought to kill him to stop the future of his dream; yes, what they hoped to stop was not necessarily Joseph, but the future his dreams promised. However, God restrained their madness. If your dream is from God, you will not die until you fulfill it. Jesus could not be killed until it was ‘time.’ The enemy may hate and roar, but he shall be unable to stop you. Faithful is God, who has promised, He will fulfill your dreams.

Do not give up on your dream, and do not be discouraged by the delay. There is a future for it. If God has conceived it in your mind, there is fulfillment in the future. It shall come to pass, and the devil will not be able to stop it. You will escape a thousand deaths just because you have a mission; bad situations will turn to your advantage because you have a dream. God will restrain those who hate or think to harm you because of your dreams. Heaven and earth may pass away, but because God’s words cannot fail, you will fulfill what God has said you will and become all he has destined you to become, in Jesus’ name!
