Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. – Psalm 33:1

Psalm 33:1-3
Psalm 33:1-3
According to our text today, God loves it when praises come to Him from us – the saints, and it makes a beautiful sight in heaven. We serve a very big God, the El-Shaddai – God who is sufficient for all our needs. When we praise Him in spite of our circumstances, we are simply telling Him that He is bigger than our circumstances and this gladdens His heart because it shows that we believe in His ability to help, save and deliver us.
Praise can be used as a very powerful weapon to silence the devil as seen in Psalm 8:2. When the devil fires his arrows (which he always does) of discouragement, depression, fear, worry and anxiety at you, your praise will stop him dead in his tracks, it will demonstrate to him that you are not moved by what you see but by the eternal word of God. Don’t let the devil steal a moment of your day, always look for a reason to rejoice – if he can’t steal your joy, he can’t keep your goods!
Praise has power to cause increase – Psalm 67:5-7. Your praise can cause the earth to yield its increase for you in place of barrenness and lack.
These are uncertain times and things may not look quite rosy, but let this season be the best time for you to praise God because then it becomes a sacrifice and God will never forget your sacrifice. (Hebrews 13:15).
