“Therefore, say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD God: ‘None of My words will be postponed any more, but the words which I speak will be done,” says the LORD God.” – Ezekiel 12:28
REFERENCE:
In Old Testament times, God spoke through His prophets; they were His mouthpieces, and when they spoke, it was as though God Himself had spoken. No wonder the Bible says, “Believe in the Lord your God, you will be established; believe in His prophets, and you will prosper” (II Chronicles 20:20). In this verse, God and the prophets seem to be on the same pedestal. It grieves God when people ignore the words of, or despise the person of His prophets.
In our text, the people mocked Ezekiel that his prophecies, at best, were about the distant future and nothing of their time. They said his words would only happen after many days, but God quickly rebuked them, saying: “None of My words will be postponed anymore. You will not have to wait for their fulfillment; I will hasten to perform them, and you will witness them.”
Do not take God’s promises (through Scripture or His prophets) lightly; they are true words and will definitely come to pass. God who promised is able to do what He said. Believe in the certainty of the fulfillment of God’s promise and adjust your life accordingly. Let your belief in the word push you to take action steps, change your behavior, and be more trusting. Has He spoken concerning your health, family, project, children, or about closing that deal? If you knew any of these would happen tomorrow, what would you do differently today?
You might say, “I waited for so long, but it is not happening.” You may be right, but that does not invalidate the truth of God’s word and His readiness to perform them. God’s word to you today is, “The wait is over.” What you have been praying for and hoping would come will come now. Every obstacle to the fulfillment of His word in your life is taken away. God is dispatching angels right now to orchestrate events in your favor until His word comes to pass.
Ezekiel was mocked because it seemed His God was delaying the fulfillment of prophecies. God took it personally and promptly responded that His words will be fulfilled with no further delay. Your God has heard your earnest plea and intercessions. He will do a quick work regarding that long-standing issue in your life. The wait is over; it will happen quickly, suddenly, and supernaturally! When you are celebrating, your mockers will hide their heads in shame.
