“So, Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king’s table. And he was lame in both his feet.” – II Samuel 9:13
REFERENCE:
There was a popular docuseries on TV from the mid-eighties to the mid-nineties, “The Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous.” It showcased the extravagant lifestyles of wealthy celebrities, highlighting their opulent homes, luxurious possessions, and glamorous lifestyles. Viewers saw the lives of the rich and famous, tours of lavish estates, and coverage of extravagant parties and events.
The show got many people glued to their TVs, fantasizing about living in one of the rich’s mansions, attending their parties, or dining with dignitaries. The man in our story lived in the backside of the city. He was lame in his feet and the only surviving family member. Having lost his family inheritance, he was destined to live poor.
However, uncommon grace has a way of picking the least qualified person to transform them. Mephibosheth was a destitute, forgotten, unpopular, and exiled man. He was crippled in both feet and even called himself a dead dog; however, the verse above says about him that “he ate continually at the king’s table.” What are the odds that such a man would ever be lifted to the place of sitting with kings? It sounds like a fairy tale, but that is uncommon grace.
You may feel at the bottom of the ladder and wonder if you could ever be admitted into certain circles, handle a certain amount of money, live a better quality of life, or dine with dignitaries. God is not a respecter of persons; He wants you to enjoy His blessings and show you the kindness of God like David showed Mephibosheth. God will lift you from obscurity and cause kings to remember and favor you. Never write yourself off because of your situation.
Mephibosheth’s invitation to dine with dignitaries in the palace like a prince led to his exit from the land of poverty. Very soon, God will lift you to enviable heights; He will cause you to sit at tables that now seem unattainable. ‘Kings’ will send for you and empower you. Uncommon grace will lift and transform you, not because you qualify or deserve it, but because Jesus has qualified you.

I declare that uncommon blessings and kindness will characterize your life henceforth. God will raise a person of influence and substance to show you God’s compassion, love you unconditionally, believe in you completely, support you wholeheartedly, give to you generously, and wish you well sincerely.
