Don’t let the ‘uncertainties’ around you cause you to lose hope, God isn’t done with you yet – YOUR BEST IS YET TO COME!
The verse we highlighted today says: God’s unfailing love for us will not be shaken nor His covenant of peace removed. This is a profound statement coming from Almighty God Himself; and we can only totally understand this verse when we think of how unshakeable and unmovable physical mountains and hills can be. Howbeit, God is saying even if it were somehow possible for mountains and hills to be removed, yet His love for us cannot be shaken. So we ask ourselves this question, how deep is the love of God for us? We cannot fully answer this question because God’s love is beyond our intellectual capacity; it is not something we can easily grasp and it is incomparable to any earthly description or feeling of love we have ever known or will ever know.
The only way we can attempt to explain God’s love is to describe what it means for us – the recipients. God’s unfailing love for us means ‘He is eternally committed to us.’ He is not like fair-weather friends who leave us at the slightest sign of trouble or uncertainty. His promises are not just words of encouragement; they are covenants that He is bound to perform. All we need to do is just to trust, obey and rest in Him. When we put our trust in His words, we will enter into His rest and in so doing, cease from all our labors and anxieties.
