But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. – Matthew 14:24

Matthew 14:22-32
We notice in the passage we read today that Jesus made His disciples get into a boat to go to a particular area; so we can confidently say the disciples were on assignment for God – in the will of God. However their journey was interrupted by the waves and contrary wind that met them headlong. This clearly shows that the journey of life is not always smooth sail even though we are walking in the will of God.
Jesus had a destination in mind before He made His disciples embark on the journey, He gave the word and it had to be fulfilled. So despite the contradictions (waves and wind) the disciples met on their way, they still got to their destination in the end. Most times in life, when you set out to obey and do the will of God, storms begin to rage on all sides against you just so you can become fearful and discouraged to the point of doubting if you are really in the will of God.
Nevertheless, those storms do not in any way invalidate the WORD of God which is His ‘WILL’ concerning you. As long as the word is involved, it must be fulfilled because the word of God can never be broken. The storms may look like they want to sink you, but like Peter in the passage, God’s hands will be there to steady you so you will not sink.
Do not allow fear, intimidation and lies from the enemy keep you from doing the will/word of God, start today by doing the written word! If you have already started, continue, walk on the contradictions, you will surely get to your destination in Jesus name.
