“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.” ~ Joshua 1:5
REFERENCE:
God is committed to you living in victory. It does not matter where you are presently in your journey; God does not want your situation to be your definition. Glory is in your future; God’s thoughts towards you are thoughts of peace. All He wants you to do is to be strong, lift your head, stay in the game, and watch Him make a hero out of you.
Yesterday, we saw how Joshua found the recipe for victory in God’s words of assurance to him after his leader-mentor, Moses, died. Despite his sense of loss and hopelessness, God spoke to him in the past tense, telling him that his victory in life was a done deal. The same is true about you and I. We are only enforcing in our lives what Jesus secured for us on His cross.
Let us see more recipes for Joshua’s overwhelming victory. Let us learn from God’s champion:
a. Make a Move: God told Joshua, “Every place the sole of your foot tread upon…” He was not to sit and wish for victory but to plant his feet on any land he wanted to conquer. Take faith actions; make a move, extend your faith, and don’t limit yourself. Be specific about your desires. Walk around a property or document, make the call, or knock on doors. Victory does not come to those who sit, complaining, crying, and wishing. “Do something!”
b. Divine Presence: “As I was with Moses, I will be with you (Joshua).” The Apostle Paul penned those famous words, “If God is for us, who can be against us.” God promised Joshua His presence and backing. It is your surest ticket to victory. God is with you, in you, and for you. He will not let any man successfully oppose you. Eliminate the fear of man. Your dread will be upon them; all their efforts to stop you will fail. God is for you, and no one can stop you.
c. Strength and Courage: In nine verses, God told Joshua thrice, “Be strong and of good courage.” The Latin proverb says, “Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat:” “Fortune favors the bold.” Victory is for the brave, not the coward, who quits at least discouragement, frustration, setback, or seeming failure. Joshua confronted giants and warrior kings, but he never retreated. Don’t give up or quit. Dare big things and take on scary projects. You never know what is possible until you dare. Victory is moving from failure to failure without fainting.
I hope you heard God’s voice speak to you this morning. We will conclude tomorrow.
