With our placement in Christ comes rights and we need to learn to exercise those rights to live victoriously. It is by use that they translate into the Believer’s Authority.
A RIGHT is that which justly belongs to a person, which he can demand as his own. Rights cannot be forced upon a person against his will. They must be freely claimed and exercised, or they will be lost and forfeited forever – even in Christ! (Your savings in the bank will be worthless to you if you never claim it).
An average American walks with a good sense of self-worth because they know their rights as clearly specified in the 1776 Declaration of independence document, “…that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Ignorance of your rights will make you a cheap victim of the devil. Also, knowing them and not exercising them is stupidity…stupidity that surprises even the devil; however, the devil doesn’t take prisoners. “Ignorance” is no excuse in law; I believe it is so in the spiritual realm too. You have to get into the Word of God, which is our Constitution/Bill of Rights and study to SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED!
Law enforcement agents (at least, in Nigeria) somewhat avoid lawyers because they conclude that lawyers know their rights, but they more easily ‘prey’ on ignorant cab drivers. In the same way, when you know your rights and exercise them, the devil becomes ‘careful’ around you, and you will be a commander in life, then life’s situations will become subject to you!
