For as he thinks in his heart, so is he… Proverbs 23:7
The human mind wields great power! God gave man a creative mind; it is a force that can condition or determine our outcomes in life. King Solomon said in our text, “As he thinks, so is he.” That is, a man will end up becoming the thoughts that dominate his mind.
Man is a spirit, who has a mind but lives in a body. Unfortunately, many Christians exercise both the spirit and the body but neglect the mind. Out of the ‘mind,’ the issues of life come forth – Proverbs 4:23. That is, our thoughts inform our speech and actions. God has not left you at the mercy of your circumstances; if you can use your mind, you can come out of every predicament. In fact, you can create a world of success and beauty for yourself by the power of the mind.
The account of the popular passage in the bible known as “The Parable of the Prodigal Son” in Luke 15:13-19 is a typical example of how someone’s thoughts can change the trajectory of their entire life. The Prodigal Son would have died of lack in that far country where no one gave him anything after he squandered his property. However, he escaped with his life because he ‘thought’ with his mind and he was able to come up with a solution for his predicament.
The language of the mind is largely words and images; therefore, you must mind what you hear and what you see. The mind is primarily for thinking and for imagining (making images). Any man, who will succeed at productive thinking and imagining, will succeed at anything in life.
I boldly declare that I have a creative mind. I think my way out of every bad situation into the good life. I have the mind of Christ. I cannot be stranded. My mind is renewed to think solutions and to imagine better alternatives; it holds answers that will unlock countless opportunities for me. I declare that I have a sound mind, in Jesus’ name.
