For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. – Luke 1:49
REFERENCE
Luke 1:39-55
Hooray, ILCC is 2 years today! God is indeed faithful, and like He did with Mary the mother of Jesus, He has done something spectacular, outstanding and noteworthy for ILCC.
This Scripture expresses how we share the same spirit of awe and gratitude with Mary, Jesus’ mother. We can confidently say that God has regarded our lowly estate and done great things for us that will make all generations to call us blessed. He has shown us mercy, strengthened us with His arm, exalted our heads and filled us when we were hungry. Blessed be His holy name forever.
Mary, from an obscure background, was to marry a carpenter. She wasn’t on the front pages of the posh magazines of her time and none would have thought much of her. But then, an angel visited her lowly cottage – passing the palaces of rich princes, renowned priests and respected Pharisees. Getting pregnant in a ‘questionable way’ in her day was a disgrace, but by God, she was eventually dignified by the indignity.
Today is a good time to also look at your life and thank God for where He has brought you from; to thank Him for qualifying you when you had no man to help, for causing you to sit with kings and making you the envy of your colleagues, for turning your shame into glory, for giving you a song, a poem, a story to share with generations to come.
On this our anniversary morning, please join Mary and I with grateful hearts and say, “My soul magnifies the Lord!”
