THERE IS A COMING JOY – 3

“…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”  John 10:10

Yesterday’s episode ended with the view that it is inevitable that the ‘thief’ will come to steal, since we are in this world. However, God always comes to restore whatever was stolen and to give a happy ending to the story of our lives.

In today’s text, Jesus boldly declares, “I HAVE COME.” I can hear His tender, yet authoritative voice say, “It doesn’t matter what life has been like for you so far, I have come.” “You may have been heartbroken and rejected, but I have come.” “You may have been harassed and taken advantage of, but I have come.” “An issue may have dragged for long in your life without solution, but I have come.” “I know that that expectation has delayed, but I have come” “I have come so that that sickness will no longer ravish you. I have come so that your marriage may be restored. I have come that you may have…whatever you want…and have it more abundantly.” When Jesus comes, Joy comes…He is the Messenger of the coming joy…yes, the coming joy is here!

All a man needs for his story to change is for him to hear Jesus say, “I HAVE COME.” Although His presence is always with us, but this is when He brings you and your matter into focus; it is when favor takes over from effort. Abraham and Sarah’s story changed because He came – He paid them a visit (Genesis 18:1-14). Joshua won all his battles after he had a ‘theophany’ (a visible manifestation to humankind of God) visitation from God and the Angel said to him, “I HAVE COME” (Joshua 5:13-14). Israel got their deliverance from Egypt because God said, “I HAVE COME down to deliver them…” (Exodus 3:7-8). What brought Lazarus out of the grave was because Jesus came! (John 11:17).

Therefore, don’t go into the coming year with fear, go in FAITH, knowing that He has come that you may have… (fill in the blank). You will end this year well…and if it drags into the coming year, still know that God’s calendar is still on track – He is a God who keeps appointments and promises. Draw on your past experience to gain endurance for the future – if He’s done it before, He will do it again.

I prophesy last minute miracles and divine interventions. I pray that God will hasten your morning. That God will reward your endurance and let pain give way to gain – in Jesus name!

+ Pray that the Lord will initiate the dispensation of the Good Shepherd in your life. Also pray for a divine visitation from God that will compensate for all the years of delay.

+ Ask God to crown your year with His goodness; also that you will end the year better than you started, and that the coming year will be better.
