“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth…” –Deuteronomy 8:18
REFERENCE:
The world is going through one of its most financial shakings in decades. Inflation is on the rise in most countries, and purchasing power of most world currencies weakens daily. To rise above these murky waters of financial collapse, you must make God your source: He can be trusted. Look beyond your salary, network, business, or organization; these are just avenues for God to connect with you. He is not limited to, or by, them to supply your need despite the economy.
Moses reveals God as the One who gives us the POWER (capacity, means, ability) to get wealth. This is because God is committed to you by covenant, and He possesses all things. Psalm 50:10 says He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, Haggai 2:8 reveals that the silver and gold belong to Him, and Philippians 4:19 posits that He is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. If my father is the richest man in the world, I will not have a problem trusting Him to supply my needs. God is all you need to have all your needs met. He can be trusted.
You can indeed experience some success without God; however, His ‘prosperity’ is all-around. It is His blessing alone that lasts, outlives you, and makes you rich with no added sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). He gives health to the sick, children to longing couples, peace of mind, joy in marriage, the salvation of our souls, etc. His prosperity plan covers our spirit, soul, and body.
To make God your source:
a. Get out of your old ways and mindsets. God may not want you to do things the way you’ve always done them or the way ‘others’ are doing them (Genesis 12:1-3). Seek His ways.
b. Take your eyes off people. God (often) uses people to meet needs, but you must realize that they are only channels, not the source; stop depending on them. God is the trusted source.
c. Be sensitive to God’s instructions and obey them. He may tell you to sow a seed. Obey Him!
d. Make God your only option. Get Him involved in every project or endeavor. Tell Him it is His way and no other; God gets committed when He knows He is your only option.
God can be trusted to meet your needs. He can cause ravens to feed you in famine and knows which fish can bring you goodies. He can make your enemies bless you and multiply what you have, so it does much more. Will you not make God your trusted source?
