“O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance.” ~ Psalm 16:5-6
REFERENCE:
God loves you and has your good at heart. Can you let this picture sink into your spirit? If you do, it will bring you to a place of peace, being able to hand your life and affairs into God’s hands assured that He will seek your good always. The Psalmist had this assurance, which is why he could say, “You maintain my lot.” He knew that God would always look out for his good.
What was David saying? He painted God as a town planner working on the master plan of a city, using His pen to draw out ‘lines’ on paper as allotments to different people. David concluded that God would make His pen lines encompass a good portion of land for him. That is what he called pleasant places – a land of brooks, orchards, solid minerals, and suitable for farming.
When you know that God seeks your good at all times and chooses a good lot for you, like David you can say, “God is the portion of my inheritance”. If you inherit God, He will give you greater inheritances. You can say, “God is my cup” (that is, He is the measure of my blessings). You can be assured that God will choose pleasant things for you and give you a good inheritance. He will never shortchange you; He wants and seeks your good at all times.
“The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness.” He allocates the fullness of the earth to His beloved ones. As a covenant child of God, God has allotted portions of inheritance for your enjoyment on earth. No one can take what God has apportioned to you because He maintains, preserves, and protects it. He will not allow the wicked to encroach on it nor permit their rod to rest on it. It is not the plan of God for you to lose what He has given to you: you will not lose your prosperity, new position on your job, marriage, children, pregnancy, money, etc. It will not be said about you that, “He used to do well, but now…” No! God will maintain your lot. He will defend your territory, preserve your blessings, and keep your health.
Trust God to choose what is always best for you. Do not fret or be anxious; your life is in His hands. Accept His choice for you at this time as His best for you at this time – in your career, spouse, geographical location, place of worship, connections, friends, etc. His will for you is already blessed! He appointed positions, places, people, and provisions before you came on the scene. As you trust Him and remain in His love, you will collide with them, in Jesus’ name. The Lord will maintain your lot; do not fear the scheming or pranks of satan and men.

I will never know a better yesterday because the LORD maintains my lot; it only gets better like Pro. 4:18
Amen! It gets better from here!
