“I am Gabriel,” the angel answered. “I stand in the presence of God, who sent me to speak to you and tell you this good news.” – Luke 1:19 (GNT)
REFERENCE
It was Zechariah’s turn, as a priest, to burn incense on the Lord’s altar. While serving in the Temple, an angel of the Lord appeared to him, and on seeing him, Zechariah was alarmed and overwhelmed with fear. But the angel said to him, “Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer; your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to name him John.” This was absolute good news as Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth were well-advanced in age and had no children.
Through this good news, God was setting the stage for the arrival of John the Baptist who would herald the Son of God. You may have been serving God for years and looking to him for a breakthrough. I want to encourage you today, to keep serving, God is always working behind the scenes; it may seem long, but God will visit you at your place of service and give you good news.
Solomon said good news from a far country is like a glass of water to a weary soul; it is refreshing and it revives the soul. Hagar had almost lost her son to thirst in the desert, for her bottle was empty, until God showed her a well. That cold water was good news to her weary soul; it was life from death. I pray God gives you cold water in your desert situation and refresh you with good news this season. You may not see it, but what He has been working on behind the scenes will mature, and you will hear good news.
It does not matter how long you’ve had a condition or lived with an unsavory situation; you are coming out in Jesus’ name. The doctor’s report may say you have an incurable sickness, your landlord may be threatening you with a quit notice, your marriage may be experiencing turbulence, you may be waiting for feedback from someone or from an organization or even facing an embarrassing situation, and your finances are dwindling… I make bold to declare today, “God will surprise you; you will hear good news!” What you are afraid of will not happen; it is your season of good news!
God will give you cold water to drink in your ‘dry land,’ He will refresh and restore you. You will see His provision where there has been lack, He will heal you from all disappointments, He will do that which will dumbfound you, surprise you and amaze you – in your health, relationships, concerning admission into school, finances, family, business, career, children, marriage, etc. He will restore and comfort you, and He will do that which will make you sing for joy, in Jesus’ name. God will go ahead of you and orchestrate events that will bring you good news. God will surprise you this season! Your time to manifest has finally come. Your time of rejoicing is here!

REFLECTION
You can provoke good news. You can become good news to others by being kind, helpful, loving and caring. Sow seeds of good news into ministries, lives, businesses and homes; you will always harvest good news. Be like Jesus who went about doing good and healing those oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him. God is with you, be a seed of good news!
I say AMEN! I await surprises of good news all around me this season, in Jesus’ name.
I commit to be a seed of good news to someone this week. I will make someone rejoice. So help me God.
