And Peter answered Him and said, ‘Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.’ – Matthew 14:28
REFERENCE
Matthew 14:25-29
Any time you sense to do something significant in your heart, it is advisable to get a word from God, so you don’t just step out and sink. Peter knew that to do the impossible, he had to get a Word from the Lord. When he said, ‘Lord, if it is You, command me to come…’ He was in essence saying, ‘Lord give me a Word.’
Whilst the other disciples probably reasoned amongst themselves how impossible it was to walk on water; Peter got his ‘Word’ from God, stepped out with renewed conviction from the boat and actually walked on water! He obeyed even though it seemed unachievable.
One Word from God can change your life eternally. The Word of God is faith food; it quickens your spirit to believe God for much more – for the impossible. On the other hand, It is hard to exercise faith where God’s Word about a situation is not known. This means you must be addicted to the Word in order to get a Word in season for your assignments in life. Make the Word you necessary food daily.
Also, when you get the Word, step out in faith, obey promptly and you will see the Word suspend natural laws for your sake.
