ALL DEBTS CANCELLED

Oh, the blessing of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross! All men born of a woman owe God a debt of sin because of Adam’s sin. The Law of Moses extended to man the hope of forgiveness and access to God. However, unable to keep it, man fell short of its righteous requirements and became indebted to God. A record of his debt was kept.

This record is of sins deserving punishment. It documented what we were required to do but were unable to do; it was neither for us nor in our favor; it was against us. The Message Bible calls it the ‘warrant of arrest,’ and NLT, the record of the ‘charges against us.’ The devil keeps this record to find grounds to accuse us before God; it allows him to taunt and hold us to our shortcomings. It is a documentation of our disqualifications, disapproval, and demerits. It is opposite to our purposes and has “Guilty as Charged” stamped across our name and photo – guilty of violating God’s laws and breaking the ten commandments.

Living a meaningful life was difficult with such a charge hanging around our necks. We were under God’s displeasure and exposed to satan’s hatred. However, when Jesus was hung and died on the cross, God wiped away all the records satan used to accuse or condemn us by His blood. The word in Greek means to blot out, wipe out, whiteout, whitewash, or remove every trace or resemblance of a thing. Jesus further nailed this record to the cross, leaving it as a sign of the perpetual defeat of the devil and a permanent resolution to the problem. The place of Jesus’ defeat became the place of our greatest victory. The cross of Jesus crossed out everything working against you and me and gave us a life of victory after victory.

Jesus has obtained a legal discharge for you from all satanic accusations or lawsuits. Whatever was in force against your family, business, marriage, career, health, etc., has been taken out of the way and nailed to the cross. Everything written anywhere against you – in your office, a court of law, an evil altar, etc., is canceled. Every negative pronouncement, disqualifying document, damning evidence, or guilty verdict that satan holds before God will no longer have any influence over you.

Your debt of sin (or payment for a wrong done by an ancestor) is canceled. You are discharged and acquitted by an officer of heaven’s court. Shout halleluiah! All your debt is canceled!

DECLARATION:

I have been freed from all guilt, accusation, and condemnation of the devil. In Christ Jesus, my sins are forgiven, and the debt owed to God is canceled. The prince of this world has no power over my life, to afflict or condemn me. I have been redeemed from the curse of the law; nothing is against me. All things are working to my advantage. Henceforth, I will experience present victories in the place of past failures, in Jesus’ name.
