God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. Psalm 46:5
This is a beautiful psalm packed with God’s promises for you – the believer. Firstly, there is the assurance of God being in your midst. Although God was referring to Jerusalem in the Old Testament, as a New Testament believer you have a better deal – you are the dwelling place of God. And because God is in your midst as a mighty man, nothing will move or dislodge you (from your appointed place or portion) in this world. You are standing on Christ the solid rock, and that determines your rising in life.
Secondly, you are assured of God’s help when you are in need. ‘Help’ here means to be assisted, supported, and aided. Can you then imagine what it means to have God’s help? It means God Himself will improve on your situation and be of great benefit to you. Unlike men, the help God offers is definite, tangible and you will be able to testify about it. Besides, if God is your help, what or who can be against you? Remember though, that help only quickly comes to those who acknowledge their need for God’s help, who don’t make God their last option, but their ONLY option.
Thirdly, it says God’s help will come to you at the break of dawn. Invariably what this is saying is that, before the sun comes out, causing you to sweat and toil for what you desire, God would have brought it to you. As soon as the need arises, the help of God will be there to take care of it. It also pictures God going ahead of others to do it for you; that before others get wind of ‘it’, God would have already ‘settled’ you. It means that it won’t require your effort or human connection, so the glory can be God’s alone – He said, “I am the Lord, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images,” (Isaiah 42:8).
These promises belong to you, and all you can do with the promises of God is to believe and receive them with thanksgiving. Be assured that God plans to do a quick work in your life. Therefore, be expectant to hear good news about your desires. Keep your heart and eyes open, IT IS YOUR TURN FOR A TURNAROUND!
Thank God for His promise in your life. For what He is set to do; for your expectations that will be met; for providing you adequate help for your need, and for satisfying you early, so that your desires will no longer be delayed.
