“But Jesus … said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.” ~ Matthew 12:25
REFERENCE:
Having just done a great work of demonic exorcism, the Jewish religious leaders accused Jesus of exorcising demons by the power of Beelzebub (the head of demons), to which Jesus replied, “Satan never casts satan out; his kingdom is unified with a hierarchical structure of leadership and submission. If this was not so, satan’s kingdom would have fallen.” So, beware of division.
Jesus said this to the disgrace and ignorance of the Pharisees and many Christians today who fail to understand how satan operates and disregard the place of unity in their own families, churches, or organizations. The satanic kingdom is not divided; demons all work to achieve a common purpose – to steal, kill, and destroy. Do not be deceived or be ignorant of his wiles.
Divisions usually end in despair and misery. If a family, church, organization, or nation allows division in its different manifestations (prejudices, in-fighting, marginalization, suspicion, or offensive profiling based on sex, tribe, or pedigree), they will eventually break up. If we divide from one another, we become easy prey to our common enemy – satan. Galatians 5:15 says, “If you bite and devour one another, beware, lest you be consumed by one another.”
I often tell married couples that the only thing the devil fights in their marriage is unity or oneness. No matter the disagreement or grouse, all the devil wants is to pull them apart; he knows their power is in their unity, for two shall put a thousand to flight, and whatever two agree upon shall be done. Sadly, many couples live in division, feeling justified because of their hurt, not knowing that satan has them where he wants.
Let me be clear: division is a threat to your home, your church, your company, and your nation. It’s a silent destroyer that will cost you more than you’re willing to pay, detain you longer than you’re willing to stay, and destroy what you hold dear from within. To combat this, forgive quickly, drop all prejudices, embrace differences, and avoid negative stereotypes or generalizations. If satan understands how dangerous division is, it’s time for us to be wise and do everything in our power to eradicate it from any relationship or system that we hold dear.
