There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12
REFERENCE
Proverbs 14:12
A person’s life is a product of the regular decisions he/she makes. In the following episodes, we will look at some biblical truths necessary for making sound decisions. These truths will help you eliminate unnecessary mistakes in your day-to-day living; and enable you live victoriously as a Christian.
From our text, there is a way (method, approach) that may most appeal to you and seems right in making your daily decisions but which will most definitely lead to death (setbacks, mistakes, stagnation, etc.). Proverbs 27:12 reveals that “The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.” The question then is: Why should you make choices that can bring suffering to you, when you can choose better?
The bible opens with the phrase, “In the beginning, GOD…” If you must get it right and make smart and sound decisions in your daily life, ‘begin with God’. This sounds elementary, yet not every Christian seeks God before making decisions. God is willing to direct and crown your efforts with success if you will put Him first in all you do (Proverbs 3:6). Putting God first in all you do means you seek Him first thing in the morning in the place of your devotion for direction; it means you receive and obey His Word, not leaning on your own understanding, and you ask His opinion on every matter.
The more time you spend in God’s presence, the wiser you are and the better your day goes. The less time you spend with God, the more access the devil has to your frame of mind. God never speaks to people who are not ready to listen to Him. That’s why sometimes you get into trouble and you say, “O Lord, why did you allow this?” and He says, “You didn’t ask me.” God is our Shepherd – He leads and we follow, not the other way round. Seeking God first is the best way to let Him know you depend on Him.
Therefore, before you start your day, attend that interview, take that journey, accept the proposal, buy the property, make the promise, etc., SEEK God first!

PRAYER POINTS
+ Commit every matter that needs your prompt decision before God, asking Him for His guidance and leaning not on your own understanding.
+ Ask for wisdom and grace to follow His leading as His sheep.
Those who put God first must seek Him first.
“seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other things shall be added…”
Those who reverse the order continuously chase after ‘other things’ and never grasp them.
Before commencing that simple task, help me to seek you first Lord 🙏🏽
Time spent in seeking God’s opinion first is good investment. It saves us a lot at the end.
I choose to seek God first.
