“But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him…” ~ Matthew 14:30-31a
REFERENCE:
It takes super resilient faith to endure the times we live in, ignoring the contrary winds of economic difficulties, an increase in violence, the dearth of empathy amongst men, and a general disregard for propriety. Many people are daily sinking into despair and depression, and there is an increase in global suicide rates. It takes divine intervention to rescue a man sinking into the treacherous waters of unmet needs, unfulfilled expectations, and hopelessness.
Peter showed audacity in walking on such treacherous waters and boisterous wind. He is like a man who, despite the adversarial business climate, steps out to start a business. But halfway into the venture, unexpected winds of change in policy, inflation rate, cost of materials, rent, and staff attrition begin to blow, and suddenly, he begins to sink into despair and depression.
Peter, upon realizing his situation, cried out to Jesus—HELP! That was his recognition that he needed divine intervention to rescue him from going under. Jesus immediately stretched out His hand and pulled Peter out of the water. I believe that together with Jesus, Peter walked on the water again until they reached the boat—the storms or boisterous wind, irrespective.
This is the season of all manner of divine interventions. Are you sinking in despair? Are you dealing with failure on a project? Have you started a journey only to start questioning halfway? Are you tired of protracted delays and repeated patterns of miscarriage in your career and projects? Jesus is at hand to give you a helping hand. It is the same hand by which He brought Israel out of Egypt despite Pharaoh’s stubborn insistence. Just sincerely cry out to Him – HELP!
God cannot turn away from the honest and desperate cries of His children. He heard Hagar and her lad in their desperation. He heard Elijah when he was depressed and suicidal. He heard the cry of Jabez for a change of story. Cry out to Jesus today for a quick divine intervention in your situation; He is able to ‘save to the uttermost,’ those who come to God through Him.
