DON’T HESITATE: TAKE IT

“And the king of Israel said to his servants, “Do you know that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, but we hesitate to take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?” ~ I Kings 22:3

There are certain noteworthy keywords/phrases in today’s focal verse – “Do you know?”, “Is ours” “We hesitate” and “Take it.” These are all important if we must walk in the fullness of God’s blessings and plans for us. God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ. However, we often live short of this ideal.

How many things belong to you but are presently beyond your reach, because you haven’t put pressure on yourself to possess them? How many things does God desire for you to have but the enemy has kept away from you, yet you hesitate to contend with him for them? The devil will not yield your portion without a contest. A carefree life that does not take stock of what should be yours but isn’t yet yours, will not profit you. To live in God’s fullness, you must come to the same realization the king of Israel came to when he had his epiphany. Let’s look at his statement again:

1. Do you know? Taking what is yours begins with knowing what is yours. If you don’t know what God has prepared and purposed for you, you will live the life of a beggar. Get into the Word and find out the things that have been freely given to you.
2. Is Ours: You must come to a place of deep assurance of what is yours in Christ – healing, forgiveness of sins, peace of mind, total life prosperity, etc.
3. We hesitate: Hesitation often is a thief. It can stop you from taking advantage of opportunities. It is the spirit of doubt and indecision in disguise…always awaiting ‘7 burning’ bushes before you act on God’s Word. Delay can be dangerous!
4. Take It! Once you understand that certain promises in Scriptures or certain opportunities in life are yours, why wait, go ahead and take them. Do all you are supposed to until they become your reality. Life answers to demands, not just desires.

Be not afraid of contests or of straining and stressing yourself. Make a decision to never be careless about your inheritance. Contend with every king that sits on your portion and dispossess them. The Lord has given you the land – TAKE IT!

PRAYER
I pray that God will open your eyes to see the things He has freely given you, that you will no longer be satisfied with less than God’s best for you. I pray that every move you make towards TAKING what is yours will be backed up by God and you will indeed without fail, possess all your possessions, in Jesus’ name!
