Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. – Proverbs 13:12
REFERENCE
Proverbs 13:12
Expectation is envisioning, the ability to foresee or look for what you believe. It is full of enthusiasm and fervor. Expectation is the magnet that attracts what you believe God for to you. It places a demand on the power of God.
Many Christians have stayed at the point of believing for years without seeing tangible results. Believing for something is the first point in our faith walk, but what takes you to the point of receiving your inheritance is your ‘expectation.’ When faith lacks expectation you will experience frustration because of unfulfilled desires or petitions.
Most times, faith begins to lack expectation when you have waited for a long time for a particular thing to happen. You then enter that mode of same-old, same-old story. So you might be making confessions, but you are not really enthused about seeing it happen anymore; and complacency has set in.
To break the cycle of complacency, get active again about your expectations. Let your walk correspond with your talk. Be intentional, e.g. if you believe you will have a successful Management Consultancy, be active in gathering information and start by registering a business name.
Blind Bartimaeus’ faith made him cry out to Jesus for his sight, but it was his expectation that made him receive his miracle.
