Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, ‘Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.’ – Numbers 13:30
REFERENCE
Numbers 13:16-33
Our devotional today is centred on the very popular story of the time when Moses sent out 12 spies to the land of Canaan – their promise land, so they could possess it. God had already given them the land but Moses wanted them to have a vision of the land before they could possess it.
It is interesting that 10 out of the 12 spies came back with an evil report about the land; however, the report they brought was not a lie, the land they went to spy presented opportunities and difficulties, open doors and troubles, tough times and abundance. But their perception of the land was one of fear of the inhabitants of the land rather than faith in God’s promise of the land. Thus, their fear stopped them from entering into the land of opportunities (milk and honey).
Notice however, that Joshua and Caleb who went with the other spies had a different report to give, where others saw trouble, difficulties and dryness, they saw opportunities, open doors and fruitfulness. Hence, they were the only two spies from the original 12 that eventually entered and possessed the promise land.
In the same way, it is important that you see 2017 before you enter it. You only qualify to go ahead if you have seen ahead. Your report or experience will be determined by your perception. Are you going to cower in fear like the 10 spies? WHAT DO YOU SEE ABOUT 2017? Is it trouble, difficulties and dryness because of the predictions of the pundits? Yes the predictions may be correct but it is also true that great opportunities lie ahead too.
Like Moses said to the Israelites, I am saying to you today – “BE OF GOOD COURAGE” do not fear because 2017 has abundance of fruits and supernatural prosperity and you will be a partaker of them. GO POSSESS 2017 in Jesus name.
Have a FAVORED Friday and may you finish 2016 in victory! Looking forward to a greater you in 2017! Happy New Year in advance!

PRAYER POINTS
1. Thank God for the promise to take you into the coming year. Thank Him for the privilege. Thank Him for 2016 and all it brought.
2. Pray that as you transit from 2016 into 2017, it will be a movement from wilderness into fruitfulness, from not enough to more than enough, from confusion into purpose and fulfillment. Pray that 2016 (no matter how good it has been for you) will be a wilderness compared to the fruitfulness of 2017.
3. YOUR EXPERIENCE IN 2017 WILL BE DETERMINED BY YOUR PERCEPTION. Pray and say, ‘Father, open my eyes to see as You see: Where some see trouble, let me see solutions. Where others see difficulties, help me see open doors. Where some see dryness, may I see fruitfulness and where they see oppositions, may I see opportunities!’
