“Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die?” – II Kings 7:3
REFERENCE:
God spoke by Elisha in verse 1: “‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel…at the gate of Samaria.’” God never says a thing He does not intend to do, no matter how incredible it sounds. The problem is, ‘do we believe He will do what He says He will?’ Do we let what He says guide how we act? Obedience is what God seeks; if God has spoken, move!
The prophetic word of God will not benefit us until we believe and obey it. The king’s adviser questioned if God could do what He said He would; it cost him badly. However, the four lepers teach us how God wants us to respond to His word – let it move you. Unlike the king’s adviser, who physically heard Elisha speak, these four lepers were at the city gate; they represented those who listened to the word with their hearts. What they heard profited them through the spirit of faith.
When God speaks a word, the elements are activated to respond to the specific demands of men. The key is released to open shut doors, and there is grace to accomplish things you never dared. That is why you should move when you have a prophetic word. These lepers did not have this desire to venture before now, but when the word came, they desired to move.
The lepers said to themselves, “Why sit we here …” If God has given you the word that you will be the head and not the tail, you can’t sit at home doing nothing. Putting your hands to do something meaningful tells God you believe Him. Sitting symbolizes resigning to fate, defeat, or delay, but moving in faith speaks of coming better days. Making a move based on the word will open new doors of opportunity to you and activate divine presence for you.
Nothing moves unless you move it. Remember what God told you at the beginning of the year, that sermon by your pastor, the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit, the prophetic word for this season in your church, etc. It is time to do something about them. Make a move, start to study, register the company, write the CV or company profile, and like the lepers, walk towards what you are afraid of; a life-changing surprise awaits you. God has spoken; move!
