“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace…” – Galatians 1:15
REFERENCE:
Paul lived his life doing what he thought was his life’s mission – preserve the traditions of the fathers, strictly observe the laws of Moses, and zealously persecute the church of Jesus Christ. He sincerely did these with all his heart, considering all as pleasing God and running on the lane assigned to him by God. Little did he know that he would soon receive a call from God.
While on his mission of persecuting the church, Paul encountered Jesus on his way to arrest Christians in Damascus. In a figure of speaking, that encounter was God calling. That call changed the trajectory of Paul’s life. A call to be an apostle of the gospel to the gentile world went against everything Paul lived for; he was a Hebrew of Hebrew, of the tribe of Benjamin. “No, not the Gentiles!” Paul must have thought, but that was God’s plan for him even before he was born. God’s call to serve is never an afterthought. Conceived in the divine mind from eternity past, Paul was not called on the road to Damascus – it was from his mother’s womb.
When God calls you, it is to serve a particular people, in a particular place, and for a particular period. God has a call for you, something He separated you from the womb for, and a mission He sent you here to accomplish. Have you found it, or like Paul, are you chasing what gives you only financial benefit, or what you grew up seeing those around you doing? I pray that you will have a ‘Damascus Road’ experience and answer the call to do what God created you for.
Are you struggling to ‘pick’ God’s call? Know that God never calls a man to reduce him, but to accomplish great things through him and to move him from obscurity into notability. He called Moses & David from being shepherds, and made them eternal pillars in His kingdom; called Peter from a fishing boat, made him a rock in His church; called Elisha from his farm and made him a prophet twice as powerful as Elijah. The world is yet to see what God will make of you.
When God calls you, He ‘equips’ you with all you need. All He wants is for you to answer the call, and you will witness His power expressed through you. Nothing is as rewarding as seeing God do extraordinary things through you just because you answered His call. Answer God today, and pursue His call for your life with all your heart; it will be your best life yet.
Ring, Ring…! Hello, God is calling you!

PRAYER
+ Lord, I thank You because I am not an afterthought; You had my life and purpose planned out before I was born.
+ Father, give me the grace to discover and pursue Your call and program for my life. Help me to hear Your call distinctly and give me the grace to respond accordingly, in Jesus’ name.
+ Lord, all I want to hear when it is all said and done is, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Here am I Lord, equip me, send me, and use me!
I pray for the grace to discern where you want to send me and go where you want me to!
Amen!
Amen!
Dear Lord, help me to remain in my calling. Let my boasting, my joy be that I am where You want me to be, doing what You want me to do!
Amen
