It has been said that between you and the person you need to see are just four people. It will shock you to know that, for the things you are praying about, someone knows someone that knows someone that might just have the answer. If you think back to some of the things you have received in life and the people you have met in life, you will realize that you were introduced or recommended to them by someone. For some of you, even the person you married came through a recommendation. Truly in life, a good prayer to pray is to come, “Highly Recommended.”
Imagine attending a job interview where you come highly recommended… Recently, we heard about a lady in our church who had been told by a friend that her services were needed somewhere. When she got there she was told that she wasn’t going to be interviewed because she had come highly recommended.
Therefore, if recommendations are that important in life, then you need to give thought to what you do and how you do it – put in your best, be outstanding, be friendly, build good relationships because you just never can tell who will recommend you tomorrow.
From our story, it may have been possible that David didn’t have a one-on-one with the person that recommended him to the king. He may not even have known the person at all; nonetheless that person must have observed him over some time. David didn’t know that his services were needed in the palace, so he didn’t apply for the job. However, he was highly recommended and that basically turned his life around.
Who knows if the person to recommend you for your next job is observing you right now? Who knows if someone that will recommend you to your wife or husband is around you right now? Remember, one recommendation can take you out of obscurity (from following sheep) to becoming a celebrated hero!
