Israel was in captivity and the temple destroyed; it seemed The Lord had forsaken them. While captive, the temple gave them hope of His presence and help, so its destruction brought a sad sense of hopelessness. At this point, Ezekiel rose to tell them about God’s plans for a future city named THE LORD IS THERE (JEHOVAH SHAMMAH). Israel had yet to realize that God’s presence cannot be limited to a building or that location cannot limit His reach. He is a God desiring fellowship with man and has sworn never to leave nor forsake His own.
JEHOVAH SHAMMAH: He was in the garden with Adam, visited Abraham His friend, walked with Enoch, and talked face to face with Moses. After Israel departed from Egypt, He was with them in a pillar of cloud by day and of fire by night. He lived in a tent (Tabernacle) before Solomon’s temple was built, and was with Israel even in captivity. He was in Christ reconciling men to Himself, and when Jesus left the earth, He dwelt in the saints. Jehovah Shammah was there at every location. Jehovah Shammah is always present; at work, home, school, Jail, hospital, and when you are commuting; He is there with you and in you. He is a ‘very present help in trouble,’ It does not matter what you are up against, He is there with you. You are no ordinary person.
You are His temple; nothing can separate you from His presence. You are never alone! Even when you feel lonely, Jehovah Shammah is present. His manifest presence, His Shekinah (to live in you) Glory (weight, splendor, riches, authority, magnificence) is always with you. CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY. He is the God Jacob encountered at Bethel when he said, ‘The Lord is in this place and I did not know it,’. His eyes opened to see Jehovah Shammah who had always been there. Remember and recognize the God of Jacob, your refuge, Jehovah Shammah is there with you.

PRAYERS
Jehovah Shammah, thank You for always being there; in the highs and lows. I am sorry for the times I have accused You of deserting me. I hold on to Your promise for a future with hope in it. When my heart is overwhelmed, help me recognize and remember that You are there. Thank You, for You never leave me nor forsake me. You are my Jehovah Shammah. Amen.
When I lean in and listen well, I know that I will hear the roar of Your mighty love and direction because You are Jehovah Shammah. 🙇🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️

Indeed the LORD will never leave me, never! And will not loosen His grip on my life, so I can say with confidence “the LORD is my helper, my Jehovah Shammah, my EVER present help, I will not fear!🙏🏽

It’s so easy to forget that You are there, to think there are times when we have to really plead before You show up, but You are always there, I just need to look and tune to You in faith, and I will see You at work.
