And the LORD said to Abram…”Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are – northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.” – Genesis 13:14-15
REFERENCE
Genesis 13:14-18
(Continued from yesterday)
Yesterday we concluded with the thought that God wants you to keep advancing in life. But, that can only happen if you are willing to step out of your world. (the familiar – what you are used to), to the bigger world – the whole earth and all of human society and its affairs.
God thinks globally and wants us who are created in His image to do same. He gave Abraham a global vision – to envision the four cardinal points of the earth. Like Abraham, God wants us to find relevance on the global stage, to be world-class. That is why Jesus took local fishermen and gave them a global vision and mission.
If you remain in your world, you will never see God’s best opportunities for you. In addition, your output in life cannot exceed what you are exposed to. You need to be exposed to the world’s standard, because the world will judge your output by global standards, whether you like it or not.
The fastest way to get out of your world is to expose yourself to the vast sources of information you can get online, in magazines, through exhibitions, via trainings, by observing trends in the world, etc, to access the knowledge you need to grow and achieve greatness…and more especially, by communion with God’s Holy Spirit.
Don’t be satisfied in ‘your world’ (your little space and all you’ve ever known or achieved) when there is more you can become. God wants you to be the best you can be. You owe it to Him, yourself & this generation, to push yourself to become all that God desires for you to become.
