As you begin a new month, God wants you to know that whatever He has done for you up to this point is now in the past. This suggests that He plans to do something new. He wants you to have present testimonies that will swallow up your past miracles.
God is never stagnant, He is a progressive God, that is why He doesn’t want you to live in your past glory or defeat. But rather, He wants your life to become more glorious with each day that passes. Hence, the promise of a new thing.
It doesn’t matter if this year has been rough or favorable for you, it is time to leave all of that in your past and make room for the new thing that God has in store for you today.
To effectively make room for the new, you have to consciously leave the past behind like Paul did in Philippians 3:13. Do not let your past defeats stop you from receiving the new; God’s power is inexhaustible; the same power that made a way in the sea for the Israelites, is the same power that produced water in the wilderness. That same power will work for you this August.
Do not be so satisfied with yesterday’s glory, that you stop reaching out to receive today’s opportunities. yes, be grateful for God’s goodness to you in the past, but God wants you to see and know that He can do much more!
