“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” ~ Luke 21:33
REFERENCE:
We live in changing times and are confronted daily by several uncertainties. Technology is changing at the speed of light; there is climate change, economic flip-flops, and governments and their policies are constantly changing. Sometimes, it is people that we once trusted and believed in that change; they make promises they never intend to keep, and it becomes difficult to handle.
Companies hire people on particular terms, but they do not honor the words; some have been told, “I will love you till I die,” but what died was their promise. People have betrayed friends, business partners, and even spouses. Some artisans or businesses give their word to a client/customer, but they never keep their promised delivery date. All these have built a culture of distrust in our world today. To make matters worse, our politicians are mostly liars.
In a world full of the scenarios described above, we unconsciously crave stability in our lives – something or someone we can trust. We are tired of being misled and disappointed. We need someone whose integrity is not in question, who we can trust, who knows the value of words, who would do anything to ensure they keep their words, and whose words are weighty. The only person that fits the bill is Jesus Christ.
Jesus boldly declared, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” What assurance! Jesus says, “I am committed to executing My words and whatever I promise you. I would rather let heaven fail, and the earth dissolves than not fulfill what I said I would do. My word is My bond. If I don’t mean it, I wouldn’t say it, neither would I say it if I did not intend to do it. I am God, and all the resources needed to execute My words are in my hands.”
What has God said to you? What scripture are you standing on? What expectations do you have because of what the Bible says specifically to you? Jesus says, “I know and I am working on it. If you will hold on in faith, believing till you see the manifestation, and refusing to be distracted, you will see fruits.” Everything may give way around you, yet God will do what He says. Amen!
