NO LIFE WILL BE LOST

“And now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.” ~ Acts 27:22

It is said, “As long as there is life, there is hope.” Life is the most precious of the gifts God gave to man because you cannot benefit from other gifts without it. The worst the devil can do to a man on a mission is to cut his life short so that he will not reach his destination; for as long as he has life, he will arrive, although he may presently be in a storm.

Paul was traveling on a ship with other men when a tempestuous storm arose; for many days, they did not see the sun or the stars – it was all dark. It was so bad that they did everything professionally to keep the ship from sinking until they gave up hope of living. The devil was after one man, Paul, who was to appear before Caesar to bear witness to the gospel.

Some things to note and learn from this account:

1.     Life is full of storms. They get worse and fiercer when you are on a journey of purpose.

2.     “You should have listened to me.” Ignoring wise counsel can be the reason for some of the storms we go through. If you have a great calling, live by the ear, listening for God’s voice.

3.     “No loss of life.” You have God’s guarantee that He will protect you in the storms of life. You have a divine all-inclusive insurance plan. God will deliver you to your destination.

4.     “Fear not. You must be brought before Caesar.” The presence of the storm is to extinguish your faith and confident expectation in God. God says, “Fear not; you will reach your goal.”

5.     “Granted you all who sail with you.” The burden of disappointing those connected to you can be overbearing. You wonder if you can take care of your wife, kids, etc. You worry about your staff when you look at the income. God says I have everyone in mind.

6.     “It will be just as it was told me.” God will fulfill His word. You will not fail or shipwreck. The pictures, images, and dreams He gave you will all happen. The future looks bright for you.

You may be in a storm now, but let these words enliven your spirit. The storm is not always about you. This storm was to stop the salvation of the natives of Malta. If Paul perished at sea, Publius’ dad would remain sick. Also, Caesar would not hear the gospel, and Rome would miss out on the message of Christ. 

You are on a mission. Your purpose is the reason for the storm, but do not lose hope. You may lose some things, but you will not lose your life. As long as you are alive, I prophesy that you will get to the end of your journey, you will see all you should see, go where you should go, and touch the lives God put you here to. This storm will pass; no life will be lost!

PRAYERS:

+ Lord, I pray for the comfort of Your Spirit and Word through my storm.

+ Storms will not stop me, and setbacks will not set me back. I am on a mission; I will fulfill it.

+ I declare that all those who need to see me, hear me, patronize me, be blessed by me, etc., will not be disappointed. I will get over my storm and get to my destiny in the name of Jesus.
