ONE OF A KIND

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out…” – I Peter 2:9

In our last episode, we saw that the believer in Christ is both a king and priest: a royal priest. A person is either one or the other, not both at once, but God has made you that. You are ‘one of a kind’, a peculiar breed, unmatched, and unequaled. You matter to God.

Peter says you are chosen. To be chosen means there was a process of selection. God had the choice to pick amongst many, but He chose you. He chose you to be His child, to love you, use you, and send you into different fields of life. You are not a useless nobody floating about; God was intentional about your life and has positioned you to become the best you ever will be.

Never let anybody despise you or judge you by the condition of your birth, bank balance, grades in school, clothes, work, or the type of phone you use. That is not how God sees you; you are an unusual treasure and you belong to royalty. You are to be envied, clothed in the righteousness of God, and a reflection of His glory. Lauren Daigle reveals God’s opinion about you in her song: “You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing; You say I am strong when I think I am weak, and You say I am held when I am falling short; and when I don’t belong, You say I am Yours.”

Embrace this sense of identity, and let it govern your thoughts and actions. Ignorance of this will make you live in fear, harassed by satan; but that is not your lot. Colossians 3:12 says, “You are the ‘elect of God;” when there was an election, God voted for you. Do not belittle yourself; you are royalty – you are qualified to have a good life, rich in quality and abundant in quantity.

As you proceed into the year, expect supernatural things to happen for you: favor, honor, and kindness. You are qualified for joy, peace, wholeness, prosperity, a godly and goodly spouse, etc. Jesus paid for it all! Do not mock God by letting satan deceive you to think differently (John 10:10). Expect victories over satan’s plots, you have been born into the supernatural life. You have been redeemed from darkness; you are light, blessed…you are one of a kind.
