But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren. – Luke 22:32
REFERENCE
Luke 22:31-34
Today’s text shows us a very impressive prayer that Jesus prayed for Peter. It was a prayer of faith, it was prayed in absolute confidence and assurance of the outcome.
Jesus said, “…I have prayed for you… WHEN you return…” In order words, I have prayed and I know My prayer is already answered, therefore, let’s talk about what happens afterwards, because the result of My prayer is that you will be on the other side of the temptation; you will overcome the intended danger and destruction.
This should be the quality of every prayer of faith, that having prayed, you begin to talk and act like the prayer has been answered (i.e., show corresponding action).
John Alexander Dowie once got a telegram about someone on the verge of death. On getting it, he prayed and the telegram he sent back to them simply read, “I have prayed, he will live!” And the person lived. What audacity of faith! What absolute assurance in the potency of prayer and trust in a prayer-answering God!
Can you also pray and then say, “I have prayed, she is healed.” “I have prayed, it is settled.” “I have prayed, she will conceive and bear?” This will take an UNSHAKABLE FAITH in an unshakable God!
Have a FAITH FILLED FRIDAY!
