You must have heard the saying before, “Make hay while the sun shines,” or “Strike while the iron is hot.” This truth is what the preacher teaches in the verses above. There is a suitable time to do certain things. A man’s success in life will significantly hinge on his ability to know the right timing and to act accordingly, seizing the moment and making the most of it.
Life has many events that run on cycles: day and night, winter and summer, planting season, etc. Many animals have a season where they reproduce, and trees have a season for bearing fruits. All these happen in cycles or rotations; you can count on them to occur simultaneously in their season. You can key into these seasons and take steps that will give you success.
In all affairs of life, windows of opportunity open, sometimes for a short time. Then is the appropriate time to take appropriate action. You will record unusual success if you can discern the right timing and know how to take advantage of seasons. Daily, opportunities open for jobs, investments, foreign engagements, partnerships, etc. Failure or poverty happens when we don’t discern those opportunities, or when we do, we don’t know what to do with them.
The inability to discern the right timing and action can significantly increase a man’s misery. Solomon says a wise man’s heart discerns. He means having sound judgment and knowing how to act in a given situation. The secret to Esther’s favor was knowing what to do before the king by the counsel of the chief eunuch. Ruth knew how to act before Boaz because Naomi guided her on the right timing and action. May God send you a Naomi in every situation of life.
I pray for you today that God will open the eyes of your heart to see opportunities even before they unfold. May He give you the capacity to see the future and to find relevance there. I pray that you will receive divine insight into every affair of life so that you will come up with remarkable solutions. Henceforth, no man shall be able to stop your rising, in Jesus’ name.
