“And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force…” ~ Matthew 11:12 (AMPC)
REFERENCE:
Matthew 11:12 (AMPC)
This year, God wants His children to reclaim authority. It is because man lost the ‘Genesis mandate’ to satan in Eden, but when we get saved, the crown of authority is given back to us so we might reign again. However, many are subject to situations, satan, and the wickedness of man. If you do nothing, you will remain a victim; to reclaim authority, you must seize it by force.
Frederick Douglas said, “Power concedes nothing without a demand.” Power is not served free in a restaurant, there must be contention for it. Satan likes it if you remain clueless or weak so that he can manipulate events around you, and mess with your family, business, health, or mind. If you do nothing to reclaim authority, you will find it difficult to do anything significant in life. This is because human and spiritual forces will keep pushing against all your efforts.
Jesus reveals in our text that kingdom people on kingdom missions endure violent assaults and opposition from hostile powers. In order to advance, you must be equally violent (passionate, forceful, and intense); you must be ready to seize it by force (with the most ardent zeal and intense exertion) as though you are seeking a precious treasure. The reason is that authority gives you certain privileges and rights; these include the privilege –
a. To author things: initiate or execute new and ingenious ideas, set up businesses, and create original concepts. The anointing of a ‘creator’ rests upon you.
b. To get divine authorization: you experience divine backing in all your ventures. You start to experience ease in what you do because God authorizes (gives His consent to) it.
c. To become authentic: When you are an author with authorization, you become a force to be recognized. You cease wanting to be like others but become an influence. You become real, not fake, and fulfilling your purpose becomes easier.
d. To enjoy immunity: When you are in authority, you are exempt from certain troubles, taxes, lawsuits, etc. Certain demons stay away from you when you have spiritual immunity.
e. To participate in privileges: As a person of authority, you are privy to certain rights and privileges. Think of a king or a president; the pay, escorts, servants, support, etc.
These are the reasons the devil does not want you to have authority and are the same reasons you should do everything to reclaim it. If all these are at stake and are available to you, stop being cool, living like a victim, and letting things happen to you. Get up, get a hold of your life and destiny; become determined and passionate, and seize your authority by force.

PRAYERS:
+ I overcome every passivity and lukewarmness that make me settle for less than what God wants for me.
+ Open my eyes, Lord, that I may know whom You have made me and what You want me to have.
+ I rise by faith and seize all that belongs to me by faith, in Jesus’ name.
Power/force will only yield to one that is greater.
I have the greater power in Christ, I must engage and take back what belongs to me!
Matthew 12:29 (NLT)
For who is powerful enough to enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods? Only someone even stronger—someone who could tie him up and then plunder his house.

Dear Lord, make me restless, dissatisfied and desirous for where you want me to be. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lives depend on it!
