Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake? – 2 Samuel 9:1
REFERENCE
2 Samuel 9:1-10
This passage of scripture gives us insight on the friendship formed between Jonathan and David in previous chapters. We understand that Jonathan, through his friendship and covenant with David, paid the price for David to show kindness to someone (anyone) from Saul’s clan.
I believe that this is always the heart of God for us His children (the products of the covenant He cut with His son Jesus). God’s eyes are always looking out to bless us that are upright before Him, He is willing to show Himself strong on our behalf.
Just play this whole scenario in your mind, the covenant of goodwill made by mere men (David and Jonathan) was still binding even at the demise of one, how much more binding can the covenant made by the LIVING God be? The truth remains that Jesus has paid the ultimate price (like Jonathan) for God to show us goodness and kindness for the rest of our lives.
So don’t succumb to the mind games the devil tries to play – telling you God does not care; God cares, He HONORS the blood of His Son which paid the ultimate price for you to walk in His favor, He is on your side, and He is in your life to do you good. Praise God!
May your Tuesday be filled with experiences of God’s TENDERNESS!
