SOLOMON ON WEALTH 4

“Then I said: “Wisdom is better than strength. Nevertheless, the poor man’s Wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.” ~ Ecclesiastes 9:16

Listening to King Solomon on wealth does confront one with uncomfortable truths, but they are truths nonetheless. In our text, Solomon describes how being poor can make you irrelevant or despised in society, no matter what you have to offer. It would be best if you resolved to pursue financial mastery and prosperity because wealth gives you a voice; money gives you a spot on the table, options in life, and the opportunity to live well and empower others to do the same.

Let’s head out to the college of Wisdom and listen to our sage Solomon on wealth:

a.     Get Counsel (Proverbs 11:14): It is said, “Before you invest, investigate.” Many people go into businesses they know nothing about and get burnt. Solomon counsels to get all the information needed and listen to people’s experiences about any venture you intend to go into. Good counsel means safety; more counsel will ensure you are better protected.

b.     Be Generous (Proverbs 11:24-25): Selfishness is growing at an alarming rate today. We hold back from giving because we reckon ourselves as needing. But generosity is a tested biblical principle that secures prosperity. Solomon said, “The generous soul will be made rich;” God will see to it that he prospers. Plan acts of kindness or charity into your monthly budget and watch God bless you supernaturally. When you give, you will receive more than you gave.

c.     Love of Pleasure (Proverbs 21:17): Some folks must wear designer clothes, buy expensive phones, wigs, shoes, and jewelry, or eat in posh restaurants and live in expensive locations. If they have no car, they hire a ride and keep it running for hours while roaming around doing nothing; how they are perceived matters to them. The sad thing is that they don’t have the income to support this lifestyle; they struggle to keep up. They will end up poor.

d.     Service Your Network (Proverbs 19:6): It is said, “Your network determines your net worth.” Often, the people that will patronize, recommend, or introduce you to your opportunity are in your present network. Solomon said, “Every man is a friend to one who gives gifts.” Once in a while, send little gifts to those in your network, and remember their birthdays. Maintain cordiality; you never know when you will need to draw from your goodwill with them.

These wisdom tips will help you aggregate some steps to begin building lasting wealth and prosperity. May God supply you with grace to stop every practice or mindset that works against your prosperity and give you financial security, in Jesus’ name.
