“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” ~ Luke 10:19
REFERENCE:
Authority is the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience. It is the right to act in a specified way, delegated from one person to another; also, authority is an official permission. When Jesus said, “I give you the authority…” He meant that you have the authority, that is, the right or power to give orders and enforce the obedience of satanic forces.
Our greatest adversary from Eden is satan (that ancient serpent); he comes to steal our joy, peace, health, etc. He kills businesses, vision, purpose, and dreams and ultimately destroys lives. However, Jesus came, paid the price for man’s redemption, and gave us victory over him. The biggest thing Jesus did for us was defeat satan and render him a never-to-be-feared foe.
Jesus’ death and resurrection have inoculated you to the venom of satan’s wickedness. He has no legal right to reign over you again, and you are now an absolute master over satanic forces. You are restored to your former authority and dominion as given in Genesis. You can now hold sway over every situation in life by the status of your new order of life and existence.
God did not plan for you to be on the receiving end of satan’s antics. You cannot hold the key to a door, yet you weep and pray for it to open; no, you use the key. You have the authority; use it! Make decrees, resist the devil, and refuse to be a victim. Stand in the stead of Jesus and speak with authority; stop crying and start speaking. Refuse a painful pattern to continue, cast satan out of your family, command him to take his hand off your business, and rebuke that sickness.
You must vehemently resist all satanic assaults and schemes from prevailing against you. If you were the commanding officer of a military battalion, you would not be intimidated by any threat from a soldier under you. You can command his obedience, punish him, or court martial him. You should not be afraid of a corporal when you are a captain. Likewise, you have the authority over satan; put him in his place beginning today.
