“And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey.” ~ Matthew 25:15
REFERENCE:
Each man has received something from God; He cheats no one and sends no one empty. As in the parable, it may seem unfair that one has five, another two, and another one, but God gives each according to His ability. The good thing is that He will not also judge or require from each one more than He gave them. The difference is what they did or did not do with their gifts.
You have what it takes to become what you ought. The question is, do you cultivate and use it? The servants with five and two talents cultivated their gifts through profitable investments. The servant with one talent was preoccupied with how he had nothing or not enough, so he hid it. While you wonder if you have what it takes, God says, “Why have you ‘hidden’ that which you have? Take advantage of the gifts and opportunities I gave you; cultivate and use them.”
Stop thinking that you are disadvantaged or that your life will be better if you have ‘something’ that someone else has. God would have given you if you needed it for your assignment or journey. You are beautiful enough, intelligent enough, gifted enough, tall enough, etc. You have what it takes; take what you have and cultivate it. Your blessing is in what you have, not what you don’t have or hope to have. The widow’s miracle was what she had (II Kings 4).
Take your artistic or reading skills, oratorical ability, a knack for planning events or organizing, love for fashion, appreciation for colors, quick wits, etc., and turn them to serve your life’s purpose. Your miracle is in what you have. Moses’ miracle was in his shepherd’s stick, David’s in his sling and stone, not Saul’s sword. Naomi lost everything, but her miracle was in the Ruth that remained. God made you a treasure trove and a toolbox; you have so much at your disposal.
Understand that God has no favorites and did not make you compete with another. You are created uniquely with unique gifts for a unique journey. Decide to be your best and do your best with what God has given you. The world is yet to see what God can bring out of your life. Your parents, friends, teacher, boss, etc., may think there isn’t much to you or that you are a failure, but you have what it takes to make the world stop to celebrate you. Pull it out; cultivate it.
