Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it… – Genesis 1:28

Continued from yesterday…

Another warrant we have for winning came at creation. When God made man, He invoked His own Spirit and nature upon him. In other words, you are blessed and cannot be cursed – your nature is alien to a curse. Some people believe they operate under a generational curse, but praise God; you have the generational blessing of God!

The blessing is a divine empowerment which causes divine favor; it is an empowerment to succeed, the invisible goodwill that produces the visible good things we see in life. It is an invocation of benevolence. It suggests that the God who has spoken is backing you up to fulfill it.

The Spirit of ‘the Blessing’ is a spirit of fruitfulness. ‘Be Fruitful!’ went with what God spoke over you. The plan is that you succeed in whatever you put your hands to do; in the produce of your mind (witty inventions), in your body (sound health), and in your vocation (all round success). It is very important to understand this basic component of the blessing – “fruitfulness” – because without it, you cannot multiply, you cannot fill the earth, you cannot subdue it and you cannot have dominion

Every time God blessed, fruitfulness went with it; e.g. Psalm 1:1-3 reveals that the blessed man shall be like a fruitful tree. Interestingly, we never heard God take back the blessing, He never cursed Adam even when He sinned – He only cursed the land and said it will be difficult to reap its harvest – but man remains blessed, and the blessing is superior to the curse or every situation of life. Therefore, you have to superimpose ‘the Blessing’ on anything that represents a curse around you and demand its reversal.
