Yesterday, we laid the foundation for a new season in your life – “The Dispensation of Comfort.” However, to fully grasp what this means, we have to understand what comfort really means.
Comfort is a state of physical ease, well-being and freedom from pain or limitation. It is synonymous with consolation, compensation, succor and encouragement. Comfort depicts the easing or alleviation of a person’s feelings of grief or distress. It could also mean a person or thing that helps to alleviate a difficult situation. E.g. Genesis 24:67 records that Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death when he took Rebekah to be his wife.
One thing I want you to notice in today’s text is the thought, “Her warfare is ended.” Warfare means fighting, struggles and contentions. Without mincing words, this has been the experience of some people, maybe yours too. It is as if life has been one big battle for you; you are constantly fighting to make even a little progress in life; what comes easy to others doesn’t come easy for you. It takes struggles, prayers, fasting, intercessions and contentions to get the same ‘basic’ results that others are getting with little sweat.
God is saying to you through this verse today, “The time of fighting and struggling to get things, is over!” Your life will no longer be characterized by constant struggles and warfare. You will not have to do ‘all night prayers’ to get the most basic of your needs met…things Christ has finished and paid for on the cross. God will all by Himself give you rest and respite for your soul. The economic hardship of 2017 is over; losses, joblessness, hopelessness, etc. – over! 2018 will be a better year for you; not by power nor by might, but by the Spirit of the living God. Welcome to your dispensation of comfort!

“I declare that my warfare is over, the time for my healing is now. I Take God at His word and receive comfort in place of my former desolations. I receive double blessings in place of my former shame. No more striving to get little, no more struggling to survive. My mistakes are pardoned and I walk in the fullness of God by the help of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name.”
