“Your sandals shall be iron and bronze; as your days, so shall your strength be.” – Deuteronomy 33:25
REFERENCE:
“As your days, so shall your strength be.” God wants you to be relevant to your generation and not be behind in the modes and methods of the new. Paul kept pressing forward to new things, the sons of Issachar understood the times, and Daniel served in three different governments. These men kept themselves relevant. God wants the new you to be relevant to your world.
Let us consider what God wants ‘The New You’ to look and act like:
a. Think Differently: No more defeatist or impossible thinking. Think innovatively. Be open to new ideas; the mind, like a parachute, is only useful when it is open. Try new things, be a pioneer, and blaze new trails! Think ‘wide and wild;’ let your imagination loose.
b. Travel Light: Drop the things that connect you to the old ways you don’t want in your new season – attitudes, behaviors, habits, associations, etc.; things that stop you from seeing the new. Let go of the offense, hurt, fear, old clothes, or whatever slows you down.
c. Reorder Your Priorities: Life is precious, and our time here is short; therefore, prioritize. Approach everything in connection to your purpose and eternity. Also, our businesses would die without people, so value people and connect better with your customers. Health is wealth, and family is vital. A Burmese Proverb says, “In times of test, family is best.”
d. Be a Continuous Learner: Change can bring new challenges in the workplace and make you irrelevant. Read, listen to the news, and take courses/training in relevant areas. Our money is mainly going digital now, which will create new opportunities for solutions in different fields. Stay abreast of facts, learn, develop yourself, and use up opportunities.
COVID brought global change a few years ago, and the world is still experiencing its ripples. You must decide to adapt to constant change and reposition yourself for relevance. Jesus said, “If salt loses its flavor, it is good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.” May you never become obsolete in the new. May the new you find relevance in all seasons.

PRAYER:
Lord, as the seasons change, I ask for the grace to make me, my business, my ministry, and all you have placed in my hand to be relevant. I receive the knowledge of witty inventions, insight into hidden treasures, and the ability to engage my generation. I see a new me that will bring glory to You and Your kingdom and find relevance globally, regionally, and communally, in Jesus’ name.
Amen!
