“And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So, Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.” ~ Job 1:12
REFERENCE:
Satan is the author of evil; he ruined Job’s estate and killed his children. He wreaked havoc in his life using natural means like wind and fire (lightning). Satan also used human instruments, the Sabeans and Chaldeans, to attack Job’s servants at different times and made off with his livestock. Job’s mistake in all these is that he did not fight back. He allowed the evil to persist.
Satan is the author of wars between nations, environmental disasters, marital problems, sicknesses, untimely deaths, etc. Job did not know the cause of his misfortune, yet he did not blame God. That is an important lesson. When troubles knock on your door, don’t blame God; He is not the cause; the devil is. You are not a toy for the devil, a weakling abandoned by God. You have been empowered through the cross of Jesus Christ. So, don’t just sit back; fight back.
James 4:7 says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” To resist is to withstand an action; it is to struggle or fight back when pressured or attacked. So, when the enemy attacks your health, family, finance, or ministry, resist him; fight back. Stand up against all the schemes of satan. Do not wait until the devil builds a stronghold in your life or takes away everything you hold dear. Rouse yourself up on your inside; attempt to throw a punch, and God will back it up.
The Word of God is the ultimate weapon that defeats satan. When tempted, Jesus beat satan with the Word. When James said, “Submit to God and resist the devil,” he meant to let the Word of God lead your life, thoughts, and speech; obey what it says. Meet these conditions and use the word in prayers and authoritative decrees against the enemy; he will flee from you. If satan tries to rule your thoughts with fear, doubt, and anxiety, fight back with the Word of God.
You are born of the One who triumphed over all principalities and powers and disgraced them publicly; you have the DNA of a champion. If Job had fought back and resisted the devil after the first mishap, he might not have suffered as much as he did. Do not fold your arms and watch the devil run his brutal plans for your life; unleash the champion in you and fight back.
