“So, Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.” – Mark 11:22
REFERENCE:
“Have faith in God,” Jesus said. That may be one of His most profound admonitions to His saints because a life of faith is a life of possibility, as we see in Jesus Himself. God designed you to live by faith because it makes up for our human limitations. We are not omniscient, omnipotent, or omnipresent; however, we can achieve things beyond our human ability by faith. By faith, Jesus made a fig tree to wither overnight.
The original reading of our focus text is, “Have the faith of God.” God is a faith-God; He does everything by faith. Hebrews 11:3 says, “By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” God fashioned you in His image; hence, you function optimally only when you operate by faith, not by your feelings or circumstances. God never planned for your life to be subject to the natural order or sequence of things; He designed you to defy logic. You are not to be victimized by the events that assault the ungodly; you have a covenant of exemption. Faith is what activates the covenant.
Faith is the totality of man walking in agreement with the Word of God. It is believing, declaring, praying, and doing what God says in His Word. Faith is weak where ignorance of the Word of God exists. The potency of your faith is dependent on your literacy of the Word. Therefore, faith is putting God’s Word to work and not waiting for God to work.
Are you confronted with a fig tree-like situation: unfruitfulness, a promise yet to materialize for years (leaves with no fruits), lack, delays, or denials? Release your faith on the situation like God. Let it subdue the uncertainties you face and take charge of variables you cannot control, turning them in your favor. The faith of God speaks and expects what it says to happen. The Just shall live by faith, not just by His plans.
Faith is a universal legal tender. It is a currency that delivers the same value everywhere and makes the same purchase anytime for anybody. Jesus, in His discourse, said about faith, “Whoever” and “Whatever.” What are you waiting for? Switch to a life of faith.
