“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” – I Peter 2:9
REFERENCE:
In ancient Israel, different persons occupied the offices of the king and priest; the high priest ministered in the temple, and a king sat on the royal throne. However, as a believer, you have the honor of being both a priest and a king. Better put, you are a royal priest.
Over the years, many Christians only get to function in their priestly office by ministering to God in prayers, worship, and intercession. They rarely take their throne as kings to legislate laws and make decrees, address issues around them, and command the obedience of hostile spirits. As a born-again child of God, you can’t be one and not be the other. You are chosen by God to be a royal priest, and to wear the ephod and a crown. You can pray and make decrees.
Imagine that Aaron, the high priest, and king David were one person. Aaron was a great intercessor who burned incense before God. In Numbers 16:46-48, his intercession stopped a national plague; he stood between the dead and the living. King David governed Israel, fought and won enemies, was wealthy, and commanded the obedience of Israel.
Likewise, you are to minister to God in prayers, worship, and intercession, being a servant in the church of Christ. Also, however, you are to wear a crown and rule in the marketplace. You are to take territories in your career, rise to the top in your industry, be wealthy and become an influencer of policy. That is you being a priest and a king. Remember Abraham? He was rich and anointed. He built altars wherever he went, fought wars, and was very wealthy.
As believers, we grew up functioning as priests – we pray and fast, sing songs, study the bible, serve in the church, etc., which are all good. However, this year, train yourself to reign as a king. Learn to make decrees (even in the place of prayers) carry yourself with dignity or royalty, and don’t talk down on yourself or exclude yourself from top positions in your office or industry. Kings rule, command respect, are often wealthy, speak with authority, and enjoy honor and favor. Don’t live below your calling; you are a royal priest.

PRAYERS:
+ Father, I receive the grace to manifest my kingly calling and to ascend my throne.
+ Lord, show me ways I can express my kingship in all the spheres of my engagement.
+ I will function as a priest and king; as anointed and rich, and God-fearing and successful.
I wear the ephod and the crown for I’m a royal priest 🙌
…I take my place as a priest in the kingdom, I make decrees in the place of prayers …I’m rich and anointed. Glory be to God
