Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. – II Corinthians 5:20
REFERENCE
II Corinthians 5:17-21
Today’s text reveals that God has conferred an honorable status on you…that you should be an ambassador of Christ. An ambassador is on a diplomatic mission to represent the interest of his/her country in another country. As it relates to you the believer, you are on a mission on earth representing the demands of heaven.
Ambassadors function in several capacities, amongst which is to foster good relations between their host country and their country of origin. More importantly is the fact that they issue visas for people to be able to go to their country.
Philippians 3:20 shows us our citizenship is in heaven. So, as ambassadors of heaven, we qualify to issue visas for people on earth to be permanent residents of our country – heaven.
Like an apostle, the ambassador of Christ is sent into the market place, (i.e., the bank where you work, the boutique where you do your business, in that shopping mall where you shop, when you travel in a flight, or wherever you find yourself,) to issue visas to end the impasse between God and man. Reconciling men back to God.
Represent your home country (heaven) to foreigners (unbelievers) in a way that it appeals to them to the point of accepting to emigrate to your home country.
This THURSDAY, TESTIFY about the benefits of your country in your market place!
